How is testing done for COVID-19?

Positive result

Negative result
This means that you likely weren't infected with the COVID-19 virus. But a false-negative test result could happen depending on the timing and quality of the test sample -
Antigen test
The test to diagnose COVID-19 is simple and similar to a flu test. Antigen test using a nasal or throat swab to get a fluid sample, antigen tests can produce results in minutes. -
PCR test
PCR test health care worker collects fluid from a nasal or throat swab or from saliva. Results will be shared with you by either your care provider or the lab.
